Hold the Vision. Adjust the Strategy.

As a leader, you have to be stubborn with your vision… but flexible with your approach. You have to be stable enough that you aren’t flip-flopping in your stance, but not so rigid that you break and become paralyzed, which is essentially ineffective.

The vision is your anchor. It’s the “why” behind the work you do. Your vision should be clear, consistent, and non-negotiable. When the vision keeps shifting, people eventually lose trust. Direction gets cloudy. Progress slows down.

But the approach? That’s the foundation of true growth.

What works in one season, with one team, or in one environment may not work in the next. Your methods have to remain fluid. Effective leadership requires the humility to adjust, the awareness to listen, and the discipline to refine your strategy without abandoning your purpose.

Too often, we see the opposite.

Some leaders change the vision every time things get difficult… chasing the quick wins instead of building something sustainable.

Others hold so tightly to their methods that they ignore what the moment is calling for… and miss opportunities to actually move people forward.

Strong leadership lives in the balance.

Stay grounded in where you’re going.

Stay open in how you get there.

That’s how you build something that lasts.
